FAQS

Glocandy Smart Baby Monitor is designed as a parenting support tool and is not a medical device. Glocandy should not replace proper adult supervision or professional medical advice.

Radiation exists in many forms, and it can generally be divided into two categories:

Ionizing radiation carries enough energy to affect molecules, while non-ionizing radiation is much lower in energy and is commonly used in everyday technologies such as Wi-Fi routers, smartphones, and other wireless devices.

Like many modern wireless devices, GLOCANDY uses low-power 60 GHz mmWave radar technology, which operates within the non-ionizing radiation range. The energy emitted is extremely low and is designed for gentle, contact-free monitoring of your baby’s breathing and movement.

In everyday life, we are already surrounded by many sources of low-power non-ionizing radio waves, including smartphones and Wi-Fi devices. GLOCANDY uses the same type of low-energy radio wave technology while being specifically designed for baby monitoring.

GLOCANDY is currently designed for babies aged 1–8 months. Powered by advanced 60 GHz mmWave radar technology, GLOCANDY provides contact-free monitoring of your baby’s sleep patterns, breathing rhythm, and movements, helping parents enjoy greater peace of mind during everyday care.

With continuous improvements in our algorithms and technology, GLOCANDY is expected to expand support for older babies in the future, providing smarter and more personalized monitoring throughout different stages of early childhood.

Please note: GLOCANDY Baby Monitor is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, monitor, treat, or prevent any disease or condition, including Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This product is designed as a parenting aid only and is not a replacement for proper adult supervision. A responsible adult should always provide direct care and supervision for the infant.

Glocandy uses advanced non-contact millimeter-wave radar technology to monitor your baby without capturing images or videos.

Instead of relying on a camera, Glocandy detects subtle movements and physiological signals, helping you understand your baby's sleep status while protecting your family's privacy.

No. GLOCANDY is designed with privacy protection as a priority. It has no camera and does not record audio. The mmWave radar only detects position and movement data — it does not create any images or videos.

Data can be processed and transmitted locally without requiring cloud storage, helping reduce privacy concerns while allowing parents to stay informed about their baby’s status.

Not always. GLOCANDY supports both Bluetooth 5.0 and 2.4GHz WiFi modes, allowing flexible use based on your needs.

At home, parents can use Bluetooth for a direct connection with local data transmission, offering greater privacy. When away from home, WiFi mode enables remote access through the app, allowing parents to check their baby’s status and receive alerts wherever they are.

Glocandy is designed to help parents stay aware of important changes in their baby's sleep environment through four smart monitoring alerts:

• Emergency Alert
Detects abnormal breathing and heart rate patterns while your baby is resting and sends an alert when attention may be needed.

• Awake Alert
Notifies parents when the baby transitions from a sleeping state to an awake state.

• Crying / Movement Alert
Detects increased movement activity when the baby's movement exceeds the preset threshold and continues for a certain period.

• Position Shift Alert
Alerts parents when the baby's position shifts beyond the preset monitoring range.

Glocandy also tracks sleep-related patterns, breathing rate, heart rate, and body movement to provide parents with a better understanding of their baby's sleep routine. However, Glocandy is a parenting support tool and is not a medical device or a replacement for professional medical advice.

The recommended installation distance is approximately 12–20 inches (30–50 cm) away from your baby. The monitor can be securely attached to the side, head, or foot of the crib using the included mounting strap.

Please make sure the device is firmly installed before use. A loose or unstable installation may affect monitoring accuracy and performance.

Traditional baby monitors rely on cameras, which require parents to constantly watch a video feed and may raise privacy concerns.

Glocandy offers a different approach:

  • Camera-free privacy
  • Non-contact monitoring
  • Smart sleep insights
  • Local-first design
